Define the packed load first
Handle appearance is only one part of the carry brief. Provide the weight and bag dimensions before selecting the paper, top fold, reinforcement and attachment. The finished sample is the place to review carrying performance.
Ribbon handles
Satin and grosgrain have different texture and visual character. Specify ribbon width, length and color, plus punched-hole or another agreed attachment method. The handle should be proportional to the bag and comfortable around the intended load.
Rope handles
Cotton and other reviewed rope options can create a clear retail look. Specify diameter, visible length, color and the way the ends are secured. Check the holes and top reinforcement on the assembled sample.
Record the attachment in the specification
Do not rely on a mood-board image to establish the construction. Include the exact attachment preference, reinforcement and any documented load requirement before sampling.
